FBP v37.1.3 is out now! (This version is not yet available for Edge as Microsoft are slow to approve extension updates)

This version should fix hiding Sponsored Posts for most people (Fingers crossed). Please note: If you are using the Brave browser, you will need to turn off Brave Shields for Facebook, to get this functionality to work.

If you have v37.1.3 installed and are still seeing Sponsored Posts, click on the 3 dot menu “” at the top right of any Sponsored Post, then click the “Zap the Ads” menu option, then after reloading the page, the Sponsored Posts should be gone.

This version also fixes the hideStories” and hide3D Photos” Newsfeed filter options.

Let me know if this version fixes hiding Sponsored Posts for you or not (Please also mention which browser and browser version number you are using, thanks!)

Your browser has probably by now already updated you to the latest version of FBP, if not it should do shortly.

** UPDATE REGARDING HIDING REELS POSTS **

Facebook have tweaked their code for “Reels” posts, which has broken FBP’s Hide Reels option, however theres a simple workaround for this, just put the word Reels into FBP’s Text Filter box, then click “Save and Close” and that should fix filtering out Reels posts from the Newsfeed

I have FBP set to show my feed in chronological order. Today, for the first time, Meta is showing only the two most recent posts, followed by a message saying, “You’re all caught up on Most Recent posts – Check back later for more updates.”

This prevents me from scrolling down my feed. It seems like it is designed to disrupt FBP.

    • admin says:

no, its nothing to do with fbp. its to disrupt people viewing the most recent feed. facebook dont want people to look at that feed, so they make it crap. they prefer you to view the default newsfeed which uses the “top posts” algorithm

  2. Bill Schwartz says:

Sponsored ads still showing up for me using Chrome Version 122.0.6261.129 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 11.

    • admin says:

Please read the post you are replying to

      • Bill says:

And now that Chrome has updated again, I find that I no longer see the sponsored ads so maybe it was a version issue with Chrome? It was current as of the comment posting but today it’s brand new and the sponsored ads no longer seem to show.

Sorry to bother you for what appears to be a version issue with Chrome.

  3. Robert Macfarlane says:

On v37.1.1 (Chrome) and it seems every other post is a “Sponsored Post”

  4. Bernt Ribbum says:

Looks like the ads are completely eradicated now, except for when I press the “home”(house) button. Then they’re back until I press refresh (F5). Strange behaviour indeed! (Ubuntu Linux, Firefox 129.0.2)

  5. Glenn E Hall says:

Um, I love what you do. Probably would not be a facebook guy without you. But the ads are back with a vengeance. Just thought you should know before I give up on facebook. ads in my feedline are very annoying after using you for so long. Thanks for all you have done for us all.

  6. AdamB says:

What to do if the “zap ads” option doesn’t appear?

    • admin says:

some users have mentioned that sometimes f you hover the mouse pointer over the “…” drop down menu for a while, the zap the ads option will appear. if it doesnt, try reloading the page, or restarting your browser.
