F.B. Purity v29.3.6 is out now. It fixes the hide “Sponsored Posts” option, the “Sort Notifications Chronologically” option and the “Hide Animated Gifs” options.
Changes in F.B Purity v29.3.6
- Fixed the hide “Sponsored Box / Posts” option
- Fixed the “Sort Notifications Chronologically” option
- Fixed the “Hide Animated Gifs” option
Please note that although the hide Sponsored Posts option is fixed, there may be occasions when an ad at the top of the feed will show for a second or two before it gets hidden. I need to look into it some more in order to fix it properly, but if that is a major problem for you, you can use the “nuclear” option which is the hide “Posts from Pages you haven’t Liked” option, as that will hide all Sponsored Posts, but as a side effect it also hides any posts from Pages which you have “Followed” but not “Liked”.
If you are using the Chrome or Firefox extension version of FBP, it should automatically update itself to the newest version. If you are using Opera or Edge you will need to wait for those organisations to approve the extension updates before your browser will auto-update with the new version.
Some people are asking about FBP working on the new Facebook Beta Design, that Facebook are slowly rolling out. FBP is not currently compatible with the new Facebook design. I will update FBP when they roll out the new design to everyone, I do not have it on my account yet. Facebook said they will do a full launch of it in Spring, but they have not specified an actual date. If Facebook have given you the option to switch back to the old design, switch to it, as FBP will still work for you. If they have switched you to the new Newsfeed design, and you don’t have the option to switch back, there is a workaround, which involves changing your browser’s User Agent to “Safari”, as that will let you get the old design back, i made a post about that a few posts back, check it out for more information.

PS :- Important Information for Microsft Edge users of F.B. Purity
FB Purity is now available as an official Microsoft Edge extension obtainable directly from the Microsoft Edge store If you install the official Edge FBP extension from the Microsoft Edge store, it should auto-update when new versions are released in future. Be aware however that the Microsoft Store has a slow (manual) approval process for accepting extension updates, so the new version will not show up in the Microsoft Store for a day or two after I release an extension update.
To let other Microsoft Edge users know that FBP is safe and a great way to clean up Facebook Please leave a 5* review for F.B. Purity in the Microsoft Edge Store

Facebook just released a new version which includes a dark mode which I like, larger font which I’m not a fan of and supposedly faster loading times. When I switch to the new version, the FBP tab is no longer present and ads appear at the top right above the Contacts panel.
As mentioned in previous posts, FBP is not yet compatible with Facebook’s newsfeed design Beta test version, if you have the option to switch back to the old Newsfeed design, you should do so, as FBP is still compatible with that version. If you do not have the option to switch back to the old design, you can trick Facebook into showing you the old newsfeed design, by setting your browser’s User Agent to appear to be “Safari”. To do this you need to install a User Agent Switcher extension in your browser, then switch the User Agent to Safari. Example extensions you can use are User Agent Switcher for Chrome, and Chameleon for Firefox.
So I am using Firefox and tried to install the latest version of FB Purity and keep getting a message saying that it could not be downloaded because of a connection failure. Any ideas why this is happening?
