FB Purity v12.1.0 has been released:

Changes:

Fixed: The Hide Sponsored Box option (it hides all facebook ads)

Fixed: Tag suggestions for “Share” popup menu (share in group/share on friend’s timeline), Fixed tagging users in photos, and locations, tag suggestions on “View as” page when the hide “Auto Tag Suggestions” option is turned o.

Fixed: The firefox FBP extension problem of FBP not loading / showing up when new Facebook tabs were opened.

New: It now auto clicks the “More Stories” button on initial page load if there are no or few stories in the feed due to the stories you don’t want to see being filtered out.

New: Hide “Friend Requests” icon in “Top Nav Bar” options.

Updated: The “Sort: Most Recent” code, so it will switch to Top Stories even less often than before.

Updated: The hide “Apps & Games” option to completely hide “Games You May Like” instead of filtering it to the extras tab as was done previously.

I also cleaned out a lot of old code that wasn’t needed any more. Will work on cleaning the code up even in future releases, to make it even more efficient.

  • New: Hide “Auto Tag Suggestions” option (under “More Options” heading). Stops Facebook automatically suggesting tags while you are typeing. You can re-enable the tag suggestion option by typing an “@” symbol, which enables it for 20 seconds to allow you to tag only when you need to.
  • New: Hide “Search Box Popup” option (under “Top Nav Bar Options” heading. N.B. This only works for people with Graph Search)
  • New: Hide “Photos” link option, under “Hide left Column Links” options
  • New: Hide “Create an Event” option, under “Hide Left Column Links” options heading
  • New: Hide “Your Pages” option, (under “Hide Right Column Links” heading)
  • New: Show More Friends in Chat option (Under “Chat options” heading) It squeezes more friends into the chat list.

Please note, as with all FB Purity settings, you can change them by opening the FB Purity options screen, by clicking the FBP link in the top nav bar, so if you want to remove a background image or change its display settings, open the FBP settings screen and navigate to the “Font, Colours and Design” Section, where you can change the settings. Don’t forget to click “Save & Close” when you are finished editing the options.

FB Purity v9.9.1  (the browser extension that cleans up and customizes Facebook) has been released.

  • Fixed: Fixed “BA” (Block App) + “WL” (Whitelist) links not showing up on App posts
  • Fixed: “Revert Bubble Chat” option.
  • Fixed: Fixed gap in newsfeed when browser window is resized smaller
  • Fixed: Fixed Vimeo and Soundcloud and ReverbNation links. Stopped them opening twice (once in the feed and once in a new tab) when the “Fix External Links” option is selected.
  • Fixed: Fixed alignment of FBP link in top nav bar. Did this by moving it to a location where it doesn’t shift when the window is resized.
  • Fixed: Fixed the “Wrote on Wall” filter.
  • Fixed: Hide the “ask for media recommendations” prompts on timeline pages, when “hide nagging questions” option is ticked.
  • Fixed: Fixed various background colour issues, that occur when the background colour option is set.
  • Fixed: Fixed the reload loop that occurs when you are logged in as a “fan page” and have the “Sort: Most Recent” option turned on. I’ve disabled the “force sort most recent” option on Fan Pages, as it wasnt working correctly.
  • New: ‘Hide “Find New Groups” link’ in hide left column links options
  • Changed: Removed the “TL” (single column timeline) toggle button, as Facebook Fan Pages are transitioning to a single column news layout by default. However for people who are not yet seeing the new Timeline layout for pages, you can still access the single column timeline option, via the FBP options screen, under the “Timeline Options” heading.

FB Purity v9.8.0 – Expand News Column, Hide List Header Images + Bug fixes

FB Purity v9.8.0  has been released.

Changes in this version:

FB Purity the Facebook Filter that lets you Customize Facebook the way you want it

  • New: “List Options” section added to the FBP options screen, with “Hide Random Header Image” and “Hide List Suggestions” options

  • New: “Expand News Column” option, under “Further Options” heading, that expands the News column and hides the Reminders column on the right. (Please Note: this option is optimised to work with the new newsfeed design)

  • New:  Added a toggle switch for expanding/contracting the news column, that looks like “⇔” and sits next to the FBP Info bar at the top of the newsfeed.
    (Please Note: This toggle function also has a keyboard shortcut of “E” for “Expand news column”)

  • New: Added “Places and Public Figures” to the list of hideable left column links

  • New: If “Sort Feed : Most Recent” option is selected, FBP will minimise the box that says “Viewing Most Recent Stories / Back to Top Stories” at the top of the newsfeed

  • Fixed: “Sort Feed : Most Recent” option has been improved so it should switch to “Most recent” even if the URL doesnt indicate the feed is sorted by “Top Stories”

  • Fixed: Stopped youtube videos opening in a new tab and playing in existing tab at the same time when play button is clicked and FBP’s “fix external links” option is selected.

  • Fixed: Hide “Wrote on Wall” filter

P.S. Some people have been asking how to hide the “smart” friend lists that facebook automatically creates for you, in the left hand column. I made a short video that shows how you can hide those, using FB Purity’s Custom CSS feature. You will need to view it full screen to see it clearly:

Theres also a lot of pre-made Custom CSS on the FB Purity CSS page, that gives you some examples and other useful code to work with too.
