F.B. Purity – Cleans Up Facebook

I’ve updated F.B Purity, the Facebook homepage cleaner script / extension for Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera.

Changes:

• New: Ive created a Firefox addon version of the script, which means you dont need to install Greasemonkey to use it.
• Fixed: “Hide Requests Box”.
• Fixed: “Began using application” filter
• Added: “Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro” to default application whitelist

• Added options to hide the “Questions Box”, “Events Box” and “Request Box”. If those boxes dont bother you, then theres no need to upgrade just yet.

• Added an option to hide the “Poke Box”
• Improved the hide “joined group” option which hides group related activities and hide “changed location” option which hides the “check in” or “checked in to” type posts.
• Added “Live Journal”, the new “HTC Sense” and “HootSuite” to the default application whitelist

I’ve updated the script to add some new features and also fix an annoying problem some users were facing

• Added the following new hideable extras “Uploaded Photo”,”Uploaded Video”,”Tagged in Video”,”Posted Note”,”Tagged in Note”,”Posted Link”
• Added Export and Import Settings functionality, see the FAQ for more details on that.
• Fixed the problem some people were seeing when they cleared the cookies in Firefox and lost their FBP settings (3.6a fixes this for sure)
• The script now adds “Block App” and “Allow” links to “started using app/game” type messages

I’ve released a new version of the script ( v3.5 )

New in this version:

• The script now automatically hides “started using app/game” messages via the “app filter”
• The custom text filter now adds the specific text match to hidden posts, so you can tell which text triggered the filter.

I’ve updated F.B Purity, the Facebook feed cleaning, script once more to fix it for the latest Facebook homepage code change, the “get connected box” was no longer being hidden.

• Fixed the freezeup that would occur in google chrome if you tried to create a new friends list
• Made the custom text filter code more robust, the script will no longer die if you put brackets in the custom text filter
